Very interesting. Completely agree with Dr. Pippa's post and the public unaware of the hybridism of warfare is part of a purposeful campaign. Propaganda is so very little perceived, but that's part of the nature of info warfare, isn't it? A question: how do you see the recession affecting the timing of these events? Or it doesn't?
We'll definitely continue to see more "creative" methods of warfare. Developed countries that are the main players in current geopolitical tensions rely heavily on technological infrastructure through underwater fiber-optic cables and satellites. Both of which have either been tampered with in the last week or alluded that they could be.
Misinformation is one of the things I struggle with most. Can sometimes be very different to identify which I'm hoping comes with time and experience in a personal sense. Info warfare intends to confuse and it certainly does with me!
There are people who know far more than I do about how similar events have unfolded in the past so I'll just give a basic overview of elements I think will be important. The dollar being global reserve currency will be one of the biggest factors in how recessions unfold in different countries. The US holds all the cards and just like they confiscated Russian US foreign reserves, if anybody upsets the US it wouldn't surprise me if we saw the same method of financial warfare used.
The US benefits from countries holding dollar debt. As they hike interest rates into strength, others hike into weakness against inflation. The US will determine when something breaks if its "big" enough to affect them and then they'll take action.
So, in short, these events involving NATO and other military organisation, specifically the trend towards a multipolar world order, will affect the recessions in some countries if the US wants it to do so. They want to maintain their hegemony, and to do so they'll have to limit the rise of challengers. Capital wars are a great approach to do this.
Thank you for responding. It's very enlightening. I guess the whole Musk-Russia talk regarding Starlink in Ukraine are also part of this conversation/their strategies. It makes more sense now.
Yes, I also believe that being able to identify disinformation is comes with time and experience. I believe the more you have a coherent big picture and the more you enrich it, the easier you're gonna be able to see the gaps of information in the things you read around the web. This post here already shows me that you're doing well, in this sense, not many people are writing about the war in the angle you brought. It's very important, though, IMO.
Great overview, by the way. Thank you. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this (and dedollarization as well) will develop.
