Welcome To Geopolitics Explained
Welcome to Geopolitics Explained! Thank you for taking an interest in my work.
The Substack App currently doesn't allow the tabs listed in the navigation bar on the desktop website to be displayed.
So I’ve created a welcome page that will be pinned to the top of my newsletter on the Substack App. That way, my other series not seen on the Substack app can be more easily found. Even on a desktop, I hope this welcome page will make navigation of my work an easier process.
Weekly Geopolitics and Financial Markets Review
The star of the show! Every Monday I release a piece where I deep dive into one key topic from the previous week in geopolitics and financial markets. I include links to other events that have occurred in the previous week. Over time, this will add to The Geopolitics Database, the link to which can be found below.
The Israel-Palestine Series
You can find my 11-part series on the historical Israel-Palestine conflict and the current Israel-Hamas conflict here. I detail how the United States, the wider Middle East, and internal Israeli politics have contributed to this conflict.
The Geopolitics Database
When I was learning about geopolitics, I struggled to access all the information I needed in one place. We should, of course, seek information from a variety of sources, but I wanted to collect everything I wrote about in one place that is easy to navigate. Hence The Geopolitics Database.
The database is divided into three sections. The first the countries of the world, and I hope one day will include every nation on the planet. The second section details the commodities that are vital to life on Earth, and the third section is any other topic that can relate to and influence geopolitics.
The database is updated weekly. Over time I hope it becomes a prime location to access information on geopolitics. If you have information you believe could fit in nicely with the Geopolitics Database, please reach out! I’d love to collaborate with others on this project.
The Global Questions Series
The Global Questions Series will discuss the biggest problems we face today. These questions pinpoint issues surrounding life on Earth, or potential iterations of future life on Earth. I'll start each problem by posting a piece in the Global Questions Series. I hope that others, whether agreeing or disagreeing with me, will add to my work. Over time, together we might forge some useful solutions to the problems we face.
This series is released monthly.
Energy and Geopolitics
Over the coming decades, I believe five trends will define the direction our world is heading in. Self-sufficiency is one such trend. Access to raw materials and trade will become vital, especially in the clean energy transition. Globalisation will pivot and prioritise friendshoring, not stop completely. We see regions of food and water insecurity, and more young adults are being forever priced out of the housing market by high-interest rates and extortionate home prices when measured versus wages.
This series is currently being released every Thursday.
Game Theory and Geopolitics
In Geopolitics, one trend that will prove vital in coming decades is how level-headed our leaders remain. The clean energy transition, CBDCs, AI, quantum computing. These technologies have the potential to create unimaginable productivity and wealth gains, but the chaos must be controlled. Information is becoming more powerful by the day, and access is more limited.
Reasons such as this are why our leaders need to use negotiation intelligently and work together towards win-win relationships. Communication between leaders on either side of the multipolar world order must be maintained.
This series explores the connections between Game Theory and Geopolitics, through the scope of Mathematics and Psychology.
This series concluded on April 27th 2023.
Research Papers
In the past, I’ve written myself and broken down research papers of others. These are added sporadically under no schedule. Access my previous work here.
