Agreed that the sentiment of China facing societal collapse anytime soon is greatly exagerrated. That being said, the population decline will greatly affect China taking America's spot anytime soon in my opinion. Besides, China isn't the only country that may be banking on AI to boost productivity - many western Nations are also struggling to have enough babies to replace workers.

I agree. The length and depth of any transition towards AI, especially when considered alongside demographic issues such as low birth rates, will affect the technological advancement of nations. It could well reach a point where many nations are forced to undergo this change. Yes, there are even some countries in a worst position demographically than China. Either a technological innovation such as AI or a change in societal structure are two of the only strategies I can vision being implemented effectively. Attempting to boost births won’t make enough of a difference in my view. Thanks for your comment Malik!
