Geopolitics and Markets Review 25th July 2022:
Most mainstream news incites fearmongering. I’ve decided to pivot the geopolitics and market review towards a direction of giving you knowledge, so you feel prepared for anything. I’ll find the stories hidden from the mainstream media, so you don’t have to. I want to help people feel comfortable with the world around us, which is a scary place, but being prepared puts us ahead of most of the population.
I read most of the $100 start-up by Chris Guillebeau on audiobook last night as I worked. It was insightful to hear so many stories of successful entrepreneurs starting with very little business knowledge and capital. The book also explores the main accepted theories of geopolitics throughout history, from the end of the 19th century. This includes Mackinder’s Heartland Theory that whoever controlled most of Eurasia, ultimately controlled the world. I would love to explore how the main theories of geopolitics have evolved as the world we live in has changed. We are now at a crossroads, where the US-run order could turn into a bipolar world order, with the US as one leading world order, and China and Russia as the other.
