Geopolitics and Financial Markets 15th August 2022:

Rhine River is dropping to levels where boats could struggle to navigate it. This could lead to damaged trade that relies on the Rhine, especially for those who live and work on or close to the river.

The UK has also introduced a hosepipe ban, effective from August 26th. Wildfires have been popping up across Europe over the last few months, with Portugal's wildfires leading to support from France to tackle it. France is now dealing with their own near Bordeaux.

Ukrainian grain ships are bound for Africa. The Brave Commander is reported to be making its way to Ethiopia. The World Food Program says Ethiopia is on the "edge of famine", so hopefully further ships will help ease the chance of famine. 3 other bulk carriers sit in the bay near Odesa. These are called Bonita (Liberian), Maran Excellence (Malta), and Maran Astronomer (Greece) for anybody interested.
